Azimut 62S
Azimut’s 68S, seen at this year’s Sydney International
Boat Show, now has a smaller stablemate, the 62S.
With a similar profile to the 68S and 86S, Azimut’s 62S measures
62ft in length and has a beam of 16ft.
The distinctive burgundy hull has six square windows on both
sides that allow natural light to pass through the master suite.
The 62S features an ample lounge on the main deck and a dinette
on the lower deck. The port side of the deck saloon has a dining
room and two L-shaped seating areas, which can accommodate 6-8
adults. A retractable plasma TV is optional.
The helm station is to port and has room for two, including an
electronically adjustable leather helmsman’s seat.
On the lower deck, sliding panels may be used to separate the galley
from the dinette to port. The galley is equipped with a large steel
worktop, wall cabinets, a built-in fridge, microwave and four-element
electric hob. The floor is paved in wengé.
From here, both staterooms can be accessed. The VIP stateroom
is located forward, with the master suite at a slightly lower level
abaft. The VIP cabin has a queen-sized bed that can be separated
to create two single beds. The master cabin, located two steps
down from the dinette, has a small seating area to starboard, two
armchairs, a coffee table and a bed located to port. The bathroom
is also aft and isolates the master suite from the engine room.
Both bathrooms have wooden floors, Venetian blinds and suspended
crystal wash basins. The master bathroom features internal seating
in the shower that can also be fitted with a hydromassage sprinkler.
The 62S is powered by two 1015hp CAT C18 engines that, according
to Azimut, deliver more than 36 knots.
