Seaswirl 2901 Walk Around

Finding a fishing boat that suits the needs of all the family can be difficult at the best of times. Seaswirl has sought to solve the problem by creating a boat that is designed to take on rough seas, whilst providing all that the avid fisho and family requires.

The Seaswirl 2901 Walk Around features a deep-V hull, with 6’5” of headroom throughout the cabin. All the comforts of home can be found on board, including a microwave, shower, optional bunk beds and a heating or air-conditioning system.

Special features, such as a self-bailing deck that actually bails itself out, are also included.

Seaswirl boats are powered by Yamaha outboard engines or Volvo Penta sterndrives. Seaswirls are manufactured using a fibreglass moulding system. This closed-mould system (VEC) ensures precision in material portions, bonding and thickness of the deck and hull, says Seaswirl.

A limited lifetime warranty covers the structural integrity of the boat’s hull, deck, floor, stringers and transom for as long as the purchaser owns the boat. It also covers defects in the factory-installed parts and components for three years, plus defects in gelcoat cosmetics for six months and defects causing gelcoat blistering for five years.

Chaparral 276 SSi Sportboat

The 276 SSi Sportboat is one of three models released by Chaparral this year.

The 276 SSi bowrider was clearly built for fun and entertainment. It has a generous nine-foot beam, an aft sun lounge with storage and enough seating in the wrap-around bow lounge for five adults.

There’s no shortage of seating on board, with two contoured lounges in the open bow, a portside bucket seat, a double-wide helm seat in the cockpit, as well as an observer seat and an L-shaped lounge, with port side walk-through next to the sun pad.

Onboard amenities include snap-in carpet, a sink and head locker in front of the observer’s console and an EcoVac toilet. A stowage compartment can be found in the driver’s console, with a mini-galley behind the observer. The ergonomically-friendly helm has wood-grain veneer panels and seat bolsters for added comfort when underway.

Although the 276 SSi is big, it is relatively nimble, with just one engine supplying motivation. Power options run from a 5.7-litre Mercury through to an 8.1-litre Mercury big block.

Floor hatches found throughout the boat are damper-supported, as is the engine hatch, which lifts automatically at the touch of a button.

In addition to releasing new models, Chaparral has taken the step of adding more features to its entire fleet. These include a standard Sirius satellite radio with six-month free activation, Dura-Life Max cockpit performance upholstery and redesigned bucket seats, light maple-finished cabinetry, teak and holly flooring, solid surface counters and wakeboard towers with speakers.

Chaparral also offers a factory-backed lifetime limited structural hull warranty on all boats.

Marlow Explorer 70E

The Marlow Explorer 70E is just one of a series of models that range from 53 to 78ft.

Measuring 71ft 3in in length and boasting a beam of 18ft 4in, the Marlow 70E has luxury appointments and fittings throughout.

Marlow says only top-of-the-line appliances can be found on board, such as Grohe, Bosh and Asko.

At main deck level is the saloon, with a couple of steps leading up to the galley/pilothouse/dining area. Here guests can enjoy the cruising experience at a table adjacent to the helm.

The saloon sole and bulkheads are created using a process patented by Marlow called RIVAT construction, which, according to Marlow, allows for maximum strength while requiring no supports or timber posts, therefore eliminating the need for a bulky frame.
The hull is manufactured using only Kevlar, core cell and engineered constructions fabrics specified for the hull, says Marlow.

A spacious engine room houses standard Caterpillar C15 800hp engines, to deliver a cruise speed of approximately 21 knots and a top speed to 24 knots. The fuel tank is raised to standing level, so there is no need to bend over to fuel-up.

The Marlow 70E has hidden storage space under every mattress and sofa and the shelves in the galley cabinet rest on fittings that have been custom-designed to omit vibration while underway.
